Can we share on our social media as a collaboration with you when we market your episode? Yes No RECORDING BEST PRACTICES AND RIGHTS RELEASE To help make our recording the best possible, here's a list of some helpful tips. Remember, when you look and sound good, people are more likely to continue to tune in and listen the whole time. BEFORE OUR CALL, PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE: A LAPTOP OR DESKTOP: We'll use Squadcast Podcast Studio for our call which has to be done via your laptop or desktop, not on your phone (for better quality). The recording studio link will be sent out to you before we record. A HIGH-QUALITY MIC: Bad sound quality is one of the top reasons why people don't listen to a podcast. The better the sound quality, the more people will stick around to listen. If you don't have a high-quality microphone, earphones plugged into your computer work better than Bluetooth earbuds. HEADPHONES: This will help you hear your sound levels and avoid an echo during the call. You need these even if you are using a separate mic. VIDEO AND LIGHTING: We'll be recording audio and video during our call. You don't need a professional light kit, but do make sure that you're not in a dark room as this will be uploaded to YouTube as well. It's helpful if the light is in front of you or at a 45 degree angle so that your face isn't in shadow. Also avoid direct sunlight as it can be harsh on camera. NO NOISE OR DISTRACTIONS: The sounds of life can be very distracting in an audio, so try to find a quiet place to yourself where you won't be disturbed for the whole time we'll be doing the interview. Find a quiet space or room, ideally a room that has carpet to avoid echoes. Please also help choose a time when there won't be as much ambient noise. Let me know if you need to change your time to adjust for noise. HIGH SPEED INTERNET: Make sure you have a strong internet connection/signal to avoid any disruptions. The safest bet is to have an ethernet connection (if possible). I know this sometimes can't be controlled. Just do your best! BE YOURSELF! The audience wants to hear from the real you! Do whatever makes you feel relaxed and confident and let me know if I can help you feel more at ease in any way ahead of the call. Finally, if you want to get a feel for the podcast and check out past episodes, you can find it on your favorite podcast streaming platform, so make sure you take a listen in if you haven't already!
